John Hoffman’s practice focuses on employment law, commercial litigation, and estate administration putting a unique background to work for his clients.

John Hoffman is an associate in the firm’s Litigation Department.  John’s practice focuses on employment law, commercial litigation, and estate administration.

John represents both employers and employees in cases involving claims of wrongful termination, discrimination, whistleblowing, and other employment law issues.  John also counsels employers on matters involving termination, employee handbooks, and wage and hour issues.  In addition, John conducts internal investigations, on behalf of employers, into complaints of employee misconduct.

John is also on the list of attorneys approved to represent members of the New Jersey State Policemen’s Benevolent Association who participate in the State PBA’s Legal Protection Plan.

John also represents clients in cases involving breach of contract, consumer fraud claims, and business dissolution.

In addition, John’s practice involves helping clients navigate estate administration issues, from initial application with the Surrogate, to preparing and filing estate and/or inheritance tax returns, to final accounting and distribution, as well as litigating disputes.  John also serves as Court-appointed counsel and/or guardian for alleged and adjudicated incapacitated individuals.

John is a retired law enforcement officer, having served both as a municipal police officer and Detective in a County Prosecutor’s Office, where his duties included investigating financial crimes, internal affairs complaints and public corruption, and drafting office-wide and Investigation Division policy, procedures and rules and regulations.  John also served as a law clerk for the Honorable Dennis J. Braithwaite, J.A,D., in the Appellate Division of the Superior Court of New Jersey.

This background, plus prior experience in computer programming and network management, provides John with an efficient, no-nonsense, and analytical approach to his work.
