Michael D. Sklar
Experience
Michael Sklar first joined the firm in 1997, and has worked on a number of significant tax appeals that have resulted in substantial tax savings for his clients and a great deal of publicity in the Atlantic County region.
Additionally, Michael is experienced in a number of issues related to casino law and the expansion of gaming in Pennsylvania.
His experience includes:
- Representing taxpayers, including Atlantic City casino hotels, in appealing their real estate tax assessments before the Tax Court of New Jersey
- Representing investors, developers, buyers and sellers in complex commercial purchase and sale transactions, including negotiating and structuring asset and stock sales and purchases, shareholder and partnership agreements and commercial financing and preparation of all transactional documents
- Representing one of the largest affordable housing developers in the country in all areas of real estate development, financing and syndication
- Representing casinos in licensing matters, including two of the five casinos awarded freestanding casino licenses in Pennsylvania
